Research team
Simon Menet is a Research Fellow at the Foundation for Strategic Research (FRS). His research focuses on political, security, and strategic issues related to China and Southeast Asia. Before joining FRS, Simon worked at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS), a DC-based think tank, where he conducted research on China’s military-civil fusion and economic zones in Southeast Asia. He also gained professional experience at the French Défense Attaché Office in Thailand as well as at the Embassy of France in China.
Simon holds an MSc in China Studies from King’s College London and an MSc in International Security and Defense from Lyon 3 University. He also studied at the University of Texas at Austin and received a BA in Law and Political Science from Lyon 3 University. He speaks Mandarin and French.
