Tokyo and Paris will be Olympic cities in 2020 and 2024. Beyond sport, the conference organised by the FRS, which will bring together Japanese and French speakers, officials, representatives of the organising committees and experts, will provide an opportunity to reflect on the role of the Olympic Games in building a system of international standards and strengthening the soft power of the organising cities and states.
