The Foundation for Strategic Research, in partnership with the US Embassy in Paris, is organizing the conference: Cloud Act, GPDR: International Insights on Privacy and Data Management, which will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, at the FRS (4 bis rue des Pâtures - 75016 Paris, France).

Professor Peter Swire of the Georgia Institute of Technology will present his work on online privacy policies and legislation.

Professor Swire, former advisor to Presidents Clinton and Obama on issues related to private data management and national security, will present the American vision of these issues before the discussion opens with a comparison with European and French orientations in this area.

General de Brigade (2S) Olivier Kempf, associate researcher at the FRS, will be the discussant.

The debates will be moderated by Nicolas Mazzucchi, research officer at the FRS.

The working language will be English, and the session will follow the Chatham House rule.
