  • Participative innovation

Bruno Lassalle has been engaged in research activities since 2009. He draws his competence and legitimacy from his experience acquired during his military career as an army officer during which he served in the Artillery, the Mountain Troops, the Military Intelligence and the Mission for the Development of Participative Innovation.

His areas of expertise are focused on defence issues studied from a technical-operational perspective. These are, on the one hand, land-based weapons systems, including vehicles, missiles and drones, and on the other hand, joint intelligence and electronic warfare systems, including space-based Earth observation systems. He also has expertise in extreme cold, snow and avalanche conditions. He has a special interest for participative innovation.

Bruno Lassalle has regularly collaborated on studies or round tables conducted within the Ministry of Defence, which has led him to work with the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Directorate General of Armaments, the General Secretariat for Administration and stakeholders from the defence industrial and technological base.

As part of his work with FRS, Bruno Lassalle has contributed to a large number of studies for the Armed forces ministry on a wide range of subjects (impact of climate change on the armed forces, challenges facing land forces, drones, space issues, Arctic issues, etc.).

Professional experience

During his career between 1973 and 2009, he alternated positions between the “fires in depth” function and the “knowledge and anticipation” function. He successively commanded the 93rd Mountain Artillery Regiment and the intelligence group of the Army’s Technical Section (STAT), and was deputy director in charge of planning and preparing for the future of the Directorate of Military Intelligence. After 2009, he held the position of Operational Deputy General of the Participative Innovation Mission (MIP) for three years.

Other activities

Bruno Lassalle has given lectures on innovation at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Électronique et de ses Applications (Marne-la-Vallée) and at the University of Technology in Compiègne. In 2023, he taught courses on remote sensing at Ecole des Ponts Paris Tech and Ecole Polytechnique.

He has been the Secretary General of the French Institute for Resilience and Emotional Intelligence (IFRIE) since September 2023.
