Dans le cadre de ses activités de promotion du débat stratégique, la FRS organise régulièrement des rencontres destinées à présenter un thème lié aux questions géostratégiques et offrir ainsi l’occasion d’un dialogue entre un expert ou un auteur et un public averti dans les locaux de la Fondation.

Ce débat était animé par Jean-François Daguzan, directeur-adjoint de la FRS.

La rencontre s'est tenue le mardi 26 janvier 2016 de 18h à 20h autour de Barnett R. Rubin, directeur du Projet régional Afghanistan au Center on International Cooperation de New York, sur le thème :
L’Afghanistan en perspective : violence, politique et sortie de crise ?

Barnett R. Rubin is Director of the Afghanistan Regional Project and Senior Fellow at the Center on International Cooperation of New York University. During 2009-2013 he was senior advisor to the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan of the US Department of State. He was also an advisor to the UN SRSG in Afghanistan during the negotiation of the Bonn Accord, the Constitution of 2004, and the Afghanistan Compact. Rubin is the author of Blood on the Doorstep: the Politics of Preventing Violent Conflict (2002), The Fragmentation of Afghanistan: State Formation and Collapse in the International System (2002; first edition 1995), Afghanistan from the Cold War through the War on Terror (2013), and other books and articles.
